The 1850 Society

Stillwater Area Public Schools boasts a tradition of excellence and a commitment to kids. Established in 1850, Stillwater Area Public Schools is the oldest school district in the state. We're a district known for excellence and innovation. But more importantly, we're recognized for always putting kids first! That's the Pony way.

You can be part of this by leaving a legacy through education.

  • In 1850, there was a group of forward-thinking leaders who made our school district official and began to set the standard for quality public education in Minnesota. The Partnership Plan has long been supported by similarly-minded citizens. There are Stillwater educators, alumni, parents, corporate investors, and friends who want to see our young people thrive for generations to come–and they give generously to make that happen.

The 1850 Society unites and formally celebrates those who are blazing a trail for education in our community–creating “wonder” in our classrooms–through major current, planned, and estate gifts. Members receive two (2) complimentary tickets to all Partnership Plan events and activities, as well as exclusive invitations to 1850 Society events and receptions. They also receive special updates and resources designed with them in mind.

  • A gift of $50,000 to The Partnership Plan qualifies an individual/couple for the 1850 Society.

This may include an outright gift of $20,000, with a pledge or legacy commitment of at least $30,000. Up to 50% may be restricted to one of our endowed program funds–or, if a gift is over $100,000–to a named fund.

  • As supporters meet giving requirements to become a part of the Stampede 7 and/or 1850 Society, their names may be listed here–and in other TPP communications–if they wish.

  • 1850 Society Members receive complimentary tickets to all Partnership Plan events and activities, but we will also be launching regular gatherings and resources that are exclusive to this group. More on that coming soon!
